ROCKY MOUNTAIN LACROSSE LEAGUE JUNIOR A DRAFT SUCCESS

Medicine Hat (02/09/2024) - The Medicine Hat Lacrosse Club is pleased to announce that Sundevils graduated U17 Player Brolin VanderSpruit has been signed as a free agent by the Junior A Mountaineers of the Rocky Mountain Junior A Lacrosse League (RMJALL).

Junior A is the highest level of box lacrosse for players aged 16-21 in Canada. Every February, RMJALL teams from Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatchewan each draft up to 10 first-year players, while additional undrafted players can be signed as free agents. Each team can carry up to 50 players on their protected list.

VanderSpruit joins Sundevils alumni Houston Eakins, Daine Mattson, and Jayden Richards on the Mountaineers protected list.  Eakins & Richards were drafted by the Mountaineers in 2022, while Mattson joined the team in 2023.

“I’m thrilled to see another talented Sundevils player reach Junior A lacrosse.  Brolin’s dedication and enthusiasm bring a new dynamic that I believe will contribute significantly to the Mountaineers.” says Medicine Hat Lacrosse Club Coaching Director Kris Bower.  “Medicine Hat has developed numerous strong players that have seen various levels of achievement at the Junior level. As a growing club, we hope to keep nurturing talent and ensuring continued success for future players.”
